Germany vacations for children

Thinking of vacationing in Germany this summer?

Then check out The Little Travelers new DVD all about Germany.

Excerpt from Angelina Hart, nike fussballschuhe, mom of The Little Travelers:

It's an interesting thing to have uncles, cousins, parents and grandparents that are German and yet be an American and have American children.  I first went to Germany to meet my extended family when I was eight years old.  The feeling of meeting a cousin who speaks a different language is odd indeed.  But we did as children do and soon began playing as if we'd always known each other.  I am the child of immigrants who both spoke German so I learned to speak German before English though I am born an American.

Now, I stand as the parent watching my children meet their great uncles and 2nd cousins and it is the same story.  Except the very big exception here is that my children do not speak German.  I married a non-German speaker and even though I swore up and down that I would teach my children to speak German, puma online shop, I did not.  So now I have children who cannot communicate with their second cousins in a spoken language.  But the real kicker her is that that does not seem to make one iota of difference.  Children are like that.  They do not rely on spoken words in order to communicate.  I watch them each speak their own language to the other and answer back in their own language.   They really don't care at all that the other cannot understand.  It was such a thrill to watch them get to know a huge portion of the family that up until this point had been a mystery.

Other than meeting family the highlight of the trip was the fairy tale road.  We saw the 'real' castles of Cinderella, mbt schuhe preise, Sleeping Beauty and Rapunzel.  We visited the forests of Hansel and Gretel and visited the house of the Brothers Grimm.
It was all quite a thrill for the kids to see all that Germany had to offer.

Our travels began with a three month stay in Berlin.  The parks and the tulips were only second to Amsterdam in this ultra sophisticated city.  I could go on and on about the parks in Germany and only wonder why the parks in the United States don't take a few hints from this incredible beauties.  The part that stands out the most about these parks is that they are designed for community and families.  There are adult areas that are essentially pubs or cafes that overlook the kids areas.  So,chanel taschen, the adults can enjoy what they enjoy while still keeping an eye on their kids who doing what they enjoy.  It makes perfect sense!  Yet, I haven't seen any designed that way in the US.  Even the simple playgrounds have an entirely different feel there.  Parents are also involved in conversation or reading in a more relaxed way than happens in the US.  There is not so much parental hovering or shouting from the sidelines.  "Don't push!"  "It's his turn."  "Watch out!"  are rarely heard.  It's lovely.

So many things to explore and learn about.  Go to thelittletravelers.typepad.com to read the Germany travel blog and check out thelittletravelers.com for trailers of all their dvds.  The one on Iran being particularly interesting!
